Just a Sync License would be fine

Dear Intermesh-Team,

i just discovered Groupoffice and it is really a nice product . What i'm missing is the possibility to buy just the Sync module.

For company use, the price of the Pro version is really a good deal - but just for private use it is a bunch of money when you are satisfied with the community version, but missing the possibility to sync the phone / PDA with it makes it not so useful.

What about selling just the "Sync" feature for us private guys who don't need the project stuff, address lists and so on?

I second the other posters. I'm using GO3 as a collaboration platform for my scouting organization and the features of GO3 community fit our needs but a sync module would help a lot. This would be a feature we could afford to buy and would be willing to pay for.

I realy like GO3. It looks and works realy great. But without the sync possibility it's rather not usefull. I don't need the professional features like projects ect. and can't afford the fuel licence. But I think a fair price for the sync module I realy would pay. So think about licenening the single sync-modul.

I'm sorry but we will not release anything of the pro version for a lower price. We can't give our customers good service for less then the current price. We want to give our customers the best technical support.

I understand your argument, so what's about selling a sync licence without support?

That would be very nice, because GO is the best groupware I found so far

We used to do this but we experienced that selling products without support is not very satisfying for us in the end. Because a lot of customers need support but don't buy support because they don't need to when they buy the product. In the end we always solved their problems for free because we're not the kind of people who say, hey you got to buy a support contract first before we do anything. So we decided to bundle a year of support with all products.

It's comprehensible that you don't want to sell GO without support, but maybe there are other solutions?

What's about a "student edition" or something like this?
