Hi,

Thanks for your reply...

This time i have doubt and need suggestion in file system...

1) What cmd_sudo and cmd_quto will do and what its defautl value...
2) What about user_qutoa and also is it kb or bytes
3) Whether can i set the qutoa by individual users...

Suggestion: Whether the GO current version have it or not... i dont know... whats my suggestion is to maintain the file system data in database is bettter one then we get it from physical drive every time. we store the data in physical drive.... mean while store the information in the database... instead of read it from physical drive..

Thanks & Regards

cmd_sudo should be the path to your sudo binary. It's used for getting quota's from local system users. It's used to add system users. It's only used when you use the passwd user manager. By default these settings are not used.

We don't store files in MySQL because this slows MySQL down dramatically.

You can look up al value descriptions in Group-Office.php

It's a global value for all users.

Because in the early days I wanted to write GO database independent. Not all databases do auto increments or can return the auto incremented id. So The phplib databases classes have a function nextid for this.

GO was never database independent however. There was a Japanase developer who ported it to Postgress. I never found the time to merge his code unfortunately.

Hello friend,

Once again me... after a long break...

First of all you & your team to made group-office as wonder full web-application to meet all the basic requirement need in the web (calendar, task, bills, emails etc..). Gr8 Job.

I'm using community edition of group-office (version 2.16 stable)... i made few changes (in authentication and admin process) in that code. Now, we have the requirement for synchronization of Calendar, Tasks with outlook. I search for the solution in the web for the same... all said it will done by only sync module is available. But, it will available only on professional version.

My question here is... are you provide the sync module & its related files for the version 2.16 to us for charge(payment). Kindly mention the charge (Payment amount) for the same. Because, we do the lot of code change in GO to adapt with our application. If we get the newer version, it make us to rework on the code. So, we plan to add the sync module in the existing setup.

Kindly reply...
:)

I can only do this if you upgrade to 2.18. The sync server for 2.16 is too old for us to support.

Hi,

Thanks for reply.

May i know, How about Scalability, Reliability for GO version 3.
Because, you mention "There won't be any new features for this version in the future.." for 2.18.
We have 2 types of business plans.
i) Hosted Model : In this we provide GO to customers based on the request (Maintained by us). Here, we provide this to 100K users (1 lac).
ii) Dedicated Model : In this we provide GO as Dedicated to Customer (Maintained by Customer). Here, we provide GO for each customer have 400k users(4 lacs).

Kindly tell your suggestion to use GO for the above models.
Most probably we provide the support to customers.

Note: If you have a Benchmarking report the GO-3 . Kindly share the same. It will help us to analysis for the Hardware requirement.

I've got to be honest we never tested GO with that amount of users. The max we had was 1500 on one machine and that ran fine. I've no idea but you can do benchmarking with the community version perhaps?

GO3 is more scalable then GO2 because the requests is much smaller. The interface rendering is done on the client side with GO3.
