Mask for custom field

Hi guys,
Is there any posibility to create my own mask of the number-field created in the "custom fields"
I need a ID of a external record (f.e 9999) and not 99999999.99

You could use "text" insted of "number" and validate the field with a regular expression : ^\d+$
