Re: New interface

We're working on GO7 on a GIT repository in house at the moment. We've chosen to work with PHP 7 as a REST server and we're building a web client based on AngularJS: If you're interested we have some developer docs here: http://intermesh.io That is some really interesting work and i see you have go...

Re: New interface

It's been quiet since May and there doesn't seem to be any 7.X branch in the repo, would be nice to know which direction this will go in.

Re: New interface

At the moment it's a tie but most commenters seem to be in favour of Extjs 6. One extra thing to note from a developer and open source aspect. Sencha again changed thier licensing and now only the first (buggy) release is open source. This means that anyone who wants to develop a module for GO has ...

Both options will result in a different interface. The demo here is just a simple prototype and is of course lacking features. A calendar would look similar to what you have now.

Would the JSON API be different depending on HTML5/ExtJS6 or would they be just as capable?

Re: New interface

Hybrid apps have terrible performance and is a very bad idea anyway. Did you see comparation between hybrid Sencha's Fastbook and native Facebook app? Both were compared on iPhone 4 and you didnt have any chance to know which was which - maybe fastbook was a bit faster. In these days mobiles have m...

Re: New interface

You know my opinion :) HTML 5 UI is big change for most of customers you have. With ExtJS 6 you simply need create universal app to support all devices - classic toolkit for desktop/touch panels, modern toolkit for tablets/mobiles. ExtJS 5 could also run on mobiles (with IE11, Chrome, Safari browse...

Re: New interface

searchco wrote:I would choose for the html5 option, mostly for performance reasons. The other option seems heavy and slower. If you use GO heavily like we do, performance is a key issue.

Heavy usually means more feature complete and if all of the system parts only need to load ONCE, then it's not an issue.

Re: New interface

Considering that all clients use the native email client, calendar and tasks synched with DAV and that that's how most other CRM does it, then that is probably the way to go. Drop mobile web GUI support since it's already native to the mobiles. On the desktop, they want a bigger overview with sortab...
