Support for Dovecot virtual mailboxes

Talk about anything that doesn't fit in the other catagories :) (and of course is about Group-Office)

Support for Dovecot virtual mailboxes

Postby 8index » Thu Jan 02, 2014 3:40 pm

Does Groupoffice support this: http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Plugins/Virtual ?

I am asking because I configured an "all" mail box but it stays grayed out and inaccessible. You cannot even check/uncheck it in the folders subscriptions.

The Vbox is configured as this:

All mailbox /srv/vmail/%d/%n/virtual/all/dovecot-virtual:

*
-Spam
-Trash
-Trash/*
all

and in /etc/dovecot/conf.d/15-mailboxes.conf

mailbox virtual/all {
special_use = \All
auto = no
}

Thank you.

I can also confirm that it works. If I receive a new message, I see a (1) beside the virtual/All mailbox; so the problem is that it cannot be read?

Solved! I had to put the virtual mailboxes in a different namespace in dovecot. This had also to point to a location external to the main inbox and not to a subfolder of it.

Example

domain/user/mailbox
and
domain/user/virtual

instead of

domain/user/mailbox
and
domain/user/mailbox/virtual

I have anothere issue where GO does not update the "read messages" indicator in the virtual "All" folder together with the inbox. For example I log in and I have 5 new messages in INBOX & All, but after I select and read a message it decreases only the inbox indicator. I have to manually reload to get the virtual mailbox updated.

Try right clicking on the folder and enable auto checking in the properties.
