Maybe a bug... maybe

Talk about anything that doesn't fit in the other catagories :) (and of course is about Group-Office)

Maybe a bug... maybe

Postby Thomas » Wed Mar 19, 2014 3:51 pm

Hi @all,

i think i have found a bug, but i am unsure. Moreover i dont have an SF-Account for Bugtracker.

I have notice if i give the group "everybody" the Manage-Right for the Module "Mail", and decrease the right later from "Manage" to "Use" the User dont have access to any Module anymore (Message "No Module configured...").

If i set the rights for Module "Files" from "Use" to "no rights" (first option) i expect the User in this group dont see the "Files"-Tab anymore, but its still there and selectable.

Regards

I can't replicate this bug. Are you sure you didn't make other changes to the rights?

Hi Merijn,

yes... like i decribed, first i wanted decrease all rights and got this problem. After i give back the formaly rights, evth was ok... then in have searched what is responsible for this. result: if i just change the rights from mail and this behavior will be happen.

I didnt changed anything else... :(

Hi Merijn,

related to this Topic:

If i dont set my focus on decrease the rights of the group "everybody", why i cant decrease the rights of a single user in this group? For example:

From group a user have a right on a module "manage" but i cant set it to "none".

You don't set it to none. You have to delete the entry with the delete button.

Delete Button?

maybe my explanation was not clear. This image shows the setup from a user. The rights comes from the group:

as you can see the user got the right to "manage" addressbook. but i want to decrease for example to "use" (middle option).

Thanks for reply

Aha, it's because the user is in a group that has those rights already so you can't decrease it unless you remove the group. More info:

Ok, it would be nice if its possible to decrease rights given from groups. count it as a feature request :)

Thanks

Sorry, that's not possible and it will never be because that would require a complete new ACL system for Group-Office.
