Remember my login

Postby Sepppl » Thu Dec 16, 2010 12:58 pm

Dear Support Team,

At the Login-Screen appears following alert if I check the checkbox "Remember my login on this computer until I press logout":

Could not generate private key

Please, can you tell me, what`s the reason for that message?
Any hints which reason are the message are based on?

Thank you in advance

for us "remember my login" simply doesn't work since upgrading to 3.5.something (PRO)

it would be fine if this could be solved

Is the file_storage_path defined in config.php writable for the webserver? Is the php mcrypt extension installed?

It's been some time since this error occured on your GO installation. Did you solve it? I am experiencing the same problems, folder is writable and mcrypt is installed. Any ideas?

Is key.txt writable? Could not generate key can only mean it can't create the key.txt file in the $config['file_storage_path'] folder.

Thanks for your reply.

I don't have any key.txt in $config['file_storage_path'] folder which is /home/groupoffice/
It's the standard installation on ubuntu.

The folder itself is writable to the webserver. I even put a new empty key.txt into the folder and made it writable (CHMOD 777). No solution.

Are you sure the php5 mcrypt module is loaded?

The error only occurs if you check the "remember login data" option in login process. If you leave it blank normal login proceeds.

Yes because it wants to store the password encrypted in a cookie. The encryption somehow fails.

OK, but what should I do about it? mcrypt module is loaded, directory is writable by the webserver.
I installed GO via standard ubuntu "apt-get install groupoffice-com" from the official reps on a virtual appliance from http://www.turnkeylinux.org/lamp
Everything works fine except this error.

I managed to copy the file key.txt from our old GO installation to /home/groupoffice/ and checked for file permissions and user/group. What should I say ... it works!

Saving the cookies will work without mcrypt in the next version too.
