Composer font selection

Talk about anything that doesn't fit in the other catagories :) (and of course is about Group-Office)

Composer font selection

Postby gtech » Sun Jul 15, 2012 2:25 pm

I noticed the font selection in the composer is gone and the Changelog says:

02-07-2012 4.0.56
- Bug with changing fonts in E-mail composer. Font selection removed.

That's obviously a pretty important feature. Will it be brought back ?

that just doesn't solve the problem! When copying Text from Word or a Browser and pasting it into the mail you just can't assign the same font to your Mail and the pasted part! Looks extremly strange and unprofessional. The clean text from "Word or RTF-Documents" button doesn't help either. Is there a chance to bring fonts back? Or is this elder problem solved already and fonts could be reactivated?

It's hard to explain to users that GO uses fonts pasted in, but one can't switch fonts in GOs Maileditor.

What if you use the clean formatting button?

This Button solves most of the problems but not all of them. Especially when using different Fonts on a Website for Bold and normal Text both fonts exist after using this button too. It looks a bit strange then and users have no tool to correct this. Having a Font Dialog will give the user a tool to "repair" such things and will give them the ability to change fonts where they need it.

It is understandable that you disabled font for stability-reason and it surely is no bug to have just one font, but it would be nice to have that opportunity to set fonts back in the mail-Dialog. Perhaps the users could help to identify the instability and to remove the reason!?
