File sync functionality with Dropbox or OwnCloud?

Hello everyone,

I am currently evaluating GroupOffice for a small non-profit organization. I am a bit unsure about one use case: How would you set up the file module if you wanted to give members of your organization a shared workspace, like Dropbox or OwnCloud offer? I have not seen modules that would integrate either of these two services into Groupoffice.

Alternatively, is there any support for WebDAV access to the file repository?

Many thanks in advance

There's no dropbox support. But you can use Group-Office for file sharing. Webdav is supported too.

Meanwhile both is available: Dropbox and Owncloud support :)
You'll get a dropbox or ownCloud folder in your private folder tree and can move them around.
Owncloud does not yet mirror *all* of your files you have access to, including shared folders, only your own folders.

Yes it is. Please send us a message with the portal name so we can activate the module for you.

We have extended the GroupOffice Owncloud module, so that it also mirrors shared folders, here is the fork:
https://github.com/horfic/groupoffice-owncloud

If you have used already the Owncloud module, please be aware that this is using a new file tree, to meet the GroupOffice structure and is easy to use (without nested shared folders). It now looks like:

Code: Select all

OwnCloud
             -- NotInGroupOfficeFolder1
             -- NotInGroupOfficeFolder1
             -- Groupoffice
             -- Groupoffice -- SharedFolder1
             -- Groupoffice -- SharedFolder2
             -- Groupoffice -- ownFolder -- myPrivateFolder1
             -- Groupoffice -- ownFolder -- myPrivateFolder2
Simply start the owncloud client against your owncloud server, which is connected to GroupOffice - and voila you have all files synced.
For my mobile device, I have a second GroupOffice / owncloud account, which has shared access to only some selected folders, so I do not carry all sensible data with me.

Installation doesn't work here (GO 5.0.45 community and ownCloud 6.0.2 stable).

Error message during installation attempt:

An exception occurred while executing 'INSERT INTO `oc_appconfig` ( `appid`, `configkey`, `configvalue` ) VALUES( ?, ?, ? )': SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraint violation: 1048 Column 'appid' cannot be null

Best Regards
Peter
