Z-push, Samsung and character encoding

Talk about anything that doesn't fit in the other catagories :) (and of course is about Group-Office)

You have nice activesync userbase.
Please bombard Intermesh with error logs connected to z-push2, you are probably best to debug it. :)

In last 10 days I had 0 (zero) zpush2 errors with my 10 users, so I guess it's all fine for now, at least for Android devices.
Tried connecting old Nokia E90 symbian device and that didn't work. I'll try to debug that also when I have more time.

Yes, now that you mention it... I get loads and loads of these:
[Mon Apr 15 07:40:03 2013] [error] [client x.x.x.x] PHP Notice: Undefined variable: success in /san/www4_1_54/modules/z-push2/backend/go/goMail.php on line 663
[Mon Apr 15 07:40:03 2013] [error] [client x.x.x.x] PHP Notice: Undefined variable: statusMessage in /san/www4_1_54/modules/z-push2/lib/request/sendmail.php on line 133
Probably worth looking at.

Check logs at:
/home/groupoffice/log/error.log
/home/groupoffice/log/z-push/z-push-error.log

They tell more then apache logs.

Ok, I compared logs a bit more. It seems this happens every time a stupid user tries to send a mail to an address that is completely wrong (like in not having any @ at all or having spaces in it). I get the following in z-push-error.log:

Code: Select all

15/04/2013 10:12:10 [ 8296] [FATAL] [cheri13] goMail->SendMail() ~~ ERROR:exception 'Swift_RfcComplianceException' with message 'Address in mailbox given [malformed address here] does not comply with RFC 2822, 3.6.2.' in /san/www4_1_54/go/vendor/swift/lib/classes/Swift/Mime/Headers/MailboxHeader.php:310

#9 /san/www4_1_54/modules/z-push2/backend/go/go.php(306): goMail->SendMail()

#11 /san/www4_1_54/modules/z-push2/lib/request/requestprocessor.php(127): SendMail->Handle(1)
#12 /san/www4_1_54/modules/z-push2/index.php(189): RequestProcessor::HandleRequest()
#13 {main}
So I guess this isn't a major issue. Maybe it results in the users not getting proper error messages...

I fixed those errors for the next release. Also the character encoding should be fixed now.

This version is out now 4.1.55. Can you test it and post the results?

Yep, works like a charm. Thanks!

edit: Btw, zpushadmin still says the phone uses Activesync 2.5 (the wp8 phone that is), which I guess is a completely separate issue. Is there anything we ought to do about that as well?
