Professional version

Talk about anything that doesn't fit in the other catagories :) (and of course is about Group-Office)

I'll have to agree with webwolfi. The community version is very powerful as it is, and free to use for business and personal use. Pro modules like GOTA and sync are essential for business use, but IMHO falls in the "nice to have" category for most private persons.

One other options if you really NEED sync, could be the hosted version. It is cheaper than a PRO license, and backup and hosting is included.

if you want a professional product as a private person you have to pay the professional price. If you don't want to do so, you have to use products for private persons like google mail with all their disadvantages.

Very well put. There is a lot of work that has been made available for free, when someone does decide to pay their prices they are going to get great service. The price is not so great if you really need the product, considering the amount of work they put into it.

I have read this thread with interest as I want to move from the community version to the hosted version.

I have emailed from the GO website repeatedly over the last 6 weeks asking for someone to contact me to find out how I go about transferring from my self hosted version to the the GO packages and I have had zero response either from the website contact or from the email address on the website.

Is there anyone actually reading the emails?

Is there anybody there?

Yes of course. We reply to all e-mails.

At this point we have zero unreplied e-mail. So perhaps our reponses don't reach you? Perhaps it's in the spam folder?

Is the professional version of Group Office expensive? I had finished my trial a while back and I liked it so I had considered purchasing it at one point in time.

You get a year of free upgrades. After this year you may renew this period for another year for 199 euro.

If you don't do that you just get minor bug fix updates. Eg:

5.0.1 -> 5.0.2 is always free
5.0 -> 5.1 is only free in the support period.

Hi,

I've been using the community version for a while (at least 6.1) and thinking about switching to the Pro version.

It is running on a debian wheezy server in our intranet and I have added your repository

Code: Select all

http://repos.groupoffice.eu/
in the apt -sources.list.

How to upgrade? Just installing the ioncube because the groupoffice-com includes all licensed modules now?

looking forward for a short reply
