calDAV questions

Postby taalas » Mon May 27, 2013 10:16 am

Hi,

we are currently using the community version of GroupOffice and are trying to evaluate whether the professional version would be working for our use case.

One thing we would like to implement is using the GroupOffice calender in Thunderbird (using the calDAV interface?). Will this be easily possible?

Is there an easy upgrade path from the self hosted community version to the self hosted professional version (on Ubuntu)?

Thanks

Markus

Hi,

Yes caldav is perfect for Thunderbird. Upgrading is easy. Just install the groupoffice-pro package with the license on Debian/ Ubuntu or replace the files if you installed it manually.

Hi,

thanks for your quick reply.

We are currently using a GroupOffice from the repo. Do we need to uninstall the old package? Do we keep our data when switching to pro?

Thanks

You can easily upgrade without loosing data. Don't uninstall anything:

1. Put the license file in /usr/share/groupoffice/
2. run "apt-get update"
3. Run "apt-get install groupoffice-com groupoffice-pro"
