First alpha release

Postby mschering » Mon Jul 10, 2017 10:17 am

We've released a very early alpha release of Group-Office 7.0. It contains these modules:

    User and group management
    Module management
    Logging
    Contacts
    Files
    Messages (IMAP support only now
    Calendar

This is for testing only, it's not production ready and far from complete.

You can download the tar file here:

https://github.com/Intermesh/groupoffice-installer/releases/tag/v0.1-alpha

This doesn't work. There is no such thing than groupoffice-webclient in the tar ball. The installation routine goes round and round and the admin nor any other user isn't created.

Ok, we'll do some more testing. Did you get any errors in the log?

Obviously there is no .../vendor/autoload.php in the source. The whole dir vendor is missing. Either we need it to install or - if it's not relevant - it must be removed from installation routine.

How far are you from complete release now? Is there any estimate of the release date/month?

Anything new? Nothing changed in installer and this -> https://github.com/Intermesh/groupoffice-server/blob/master/README.md doesn't work either. E. g. vendor dir is missing.
GO7 cannot be installed, either through installer, nor via the doc here -> http://groupoffice.io/.
Can anyone at least give us a hint about when something reliable (testing or installing alpha) is in sight? Or maybe about the current status?

Last week, I've installed GO7 using the http://groupoffice.io/index.php/Welcome documentation.

Everything goes well except for the mail module : can't retrieve emails from imap because a called function does not exist...

My configuration :

Debian 9
MariaDB
Php7
Ldap support with AD access

Be careful there are some modifications to do in the doc :
for the git clone for the restAPI dont use

Code: Select all

git clone git@github.com:Intermesh/groupoffice-server.git

but

Code: Select all

 git clone https://github.com/Intermesh/groupoffice-server.git

same for the webclient

Good luck ;)

Message for my friends @ Intermesh : Please give us some information, advancement about the GO7 Dev. You've done a really great job !!!

Hi jullien,

thanks for your info. I run into lots of errors but this might be because of my system (Debian 8, PHP 5, ...). So I'm gonna give this machine an update before trying again and will report here.

Installed a clean Debian 9 and then GO 7 Alpha - works.

Return to “GroupOffice 7.0”
