New projects module

Postby mschering » Mon Oct 21, 2013 9:11 am

In the latest 5.0.15 version we included a renewed projects and time tracking module.

Projects have tasks now so you can easily plan your projects. We've also included a more flexible reporting engine so it's easy to add new custom PHP reports.
The time tracking dialog is more user friendly than it was before.

The new modules install along the current projects module so you can run them both at the same time. The new module will automatically import existing projects.

Hi Merijn,

I wish you all the best for 2014!

It could be a good Group-Office year with the new mobile application coming soon
:-) Do you have any timing information? (Q1, Q2, ...)

We made some active testing of the new projects module (projects2).

For some problems we couldn't find a solution:
-> How can we select the statuses?
The statuses-area is missing. Will it come back in further versions?

-> How can we create new subprojects?
We could not create any subproject/subfolder with "Add Project" directly
(message is "You can't add projects to projects") but it's possible to move
a root-project via drag&drop to another project.
The option "show in tree" in "Administration" is missing.

-> How can we add new "tasks" to projects which are migrated from the "old"
version? The task-area is greyed an no new tasks could be added.

-> How can we group the tasks?
We didn't find any possibility to change the grouping-text "ungrouped"
to any other.

-> Is it possible to skip the data-migration form projects to projcts2 on
module installation?

Regards

Some more info.

I just fixed the drag and drop of subprojects.
You can only create subprojects to projects that have a template of type container.

You can skip the data migration by temporarily removing the modules/projects folder.

I also activated ProjectsV2 Module, some comments:

It did the import, but it seems a column is missing in a table, when I click on an existing project:
SQLSTATE[42S22]: Column not found: 1054 Unknown column 't.external_fee' in 'field list'

We still have the issue, that the file tree in the "Files" tab is not equal to the project tree in the "Project" tab.
We had moved a project as a subproject, and in the file tree it is now doubled and the old project folder can not be removed.
Screenshots have been submitted here: https://www.group-office.com/support/ti ... r=47802529

In issue https://www.group-office.com/support/ti ... r=32185448 I had suggested to rename the
wording for projects templates: use "Template visibility" instead of "Read permission".

Can you retry the installation in version 5.0.43? Just uninstall it and reinstall the projects2 module after the upgrade.

After updating to 5.0.45 I uninstalled the Module Projects2 and re-install it again. I got:
SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraint violation: 1062 Duplicate entry '5-2' for key 'PRIMARY'
After logging out and in it seems to work fine.
Thank you for cleaning up the Projects module!

Hi,
I have similar problem with this module "Projects V2"
After upgrading from 5.0.72pro to 5.0.77pro, uninstalled Projects V2 module and re-installed again
After that I received an error:

SQLSTATE[42S02]: Base table or view not found: 1146 Table 'groupoffice.pm_statuses' doesn't exist
