Group-Office 6.3

Postby mschering » Fri Jan 26, 2018 4:24 pm

Hi All,

I'm sorry to say we still didn't manage to get 6.3 done. I expect it will take about a week to get a beta release out to the public. I did setup a demo so you can have a look. In this demo "Notes" is our pilot module for the new framework. This module is now an example of how the rest will be refactored as we progress later in the year. See also our roadmap at https://www.group-office.com/roadmap

You can login with user and password "demo" here:

https://demo.group-office.eu

We will update this demo regularly the next upcoming weeks.
Best regards,

Looks good! Nice work. A bit slow to load the initial page.

Do you have a recommended path of upgrade for sites still using 6.1?

Are we to first upgrade to 6.2 and (when ready) then proceed to 6.3, or can those on 6.1 go directly to 6.3 when it is ready?

Hi,

You'll have to upgrade to 6.2 first.

Hi Merijn,

will it be possible in the future (maybe already now?) to create new users without:
- Own Address book
- Calendar
- Filesystem
- etc?
Often when working in a team, we don't want to have users using "their own". All addresses shall be in the same address book and all files shall be saved in the team-folder?

Thanks
Martin

Thank you Merijn,

So just update from any 6.1 version (we are on 1.124) to the most current 6.2.x stream, then we can update to 6.3 later?

Is there also a minimum version of PHP and MySql needed to go to 6.3?

Yes, that's correct. The minimum PHP version will be raised to php 7.0. That's something to take into account.

I've also updated the demo. The Notes module is now fully responsive and works on tablets and phones!

It looks so damn beautiful! Sleek. Clean. It comes in blue in the Demo.

Do users have the option to change that colour scheme? I didn't see a Settings button like early versions have for uses.
Can Admins define the order of the tabs that appear across the top? For example, if I want Start Page to be the first tab?

Thanks!
Changing the colours will be very easy as it's a matter of changing a sass variable now.

Changing the tab order is already possible in earlier versions too by changing the sort order at modules.

Any news on the release date? Cannot wait to test it out (within my trial license).

Thanks!
