Group-Office 3.0 preview

Postby mschering » Tue Feb 19, 2008 3:57 pm

We are working hard on the new version of Group-Office.

It is far from complete but you can already take a sneak preview at:

Please let me know what you think!

Looks awesome, but i miss the modules like projects and bookmarks

No, just kidding, i know, that this is a sneak preview.

Just some hints for you:

1.
The adressbook could get more powerfull, if you make a contact histoy.
(-> companies need a crm, and also myself would switch from my customized GO to the new PRO-version!!!)

2.
The projects module would become a killer feature if it looks like the solution of eGroupware.

3.
The drag'n'drop from the calendar is nice, but you can't move it from one calendar to another.
Is such a solution even possible with AJAX?

But, at last, even if i dislike AJAX, i think it is neccessary to go this way.
Thumbs up 8)

What do you mean by contact history? We do this with the links right?

Dragging appointments to another calendar is possible with a team view. But it's a good idea to make the calendar navigation drop targets too.

All the existing features will eventually be added before it's released. This is just a preview so that you can see what we are working on.

Very nice preview! I like the "tasklists" in the taskmodule, so you can sort the tasks out without making a project for it. Can you sync the tasklists with Syncml??

How long do you think you still need to release 3.0 (I don't need a exact date, only a indication if possible)? Can you notify me when you have a beta?? I like to help you active with finding bugs!

I also have some ideas! It would be nice to have a "start" tab which will look like this: http://extjs.com/deploy/dev/examples/portal/portal.html
It would be nice if you can place "containers" with information about individual projects. And what about the individual tasklists or the latest RSS feeds

And what about RSS, I really miss a RSS reader in the current GO.

Will the bookmark module come back? I would like to see it like you already did the "files" module. So that you have folders with links in it :D

I have to agree with Lonesome Walker, I've just seen the demo of eGroupware and I really like how they did the projects module. You really got to build in a Ganttchart, something you also miss in the current version of GO.

Keep up the good work 8)

Yes the portal was already in my mind as a startpage. Where you can add and remove various panels with:

-today's calendar items
-open tasks
-last uploaded files
-Custom rss panels
-Weather panel
etc..

Plan to release code of Group-office 3.0 as well?

Postby phauly » Tue Mar 04, 2008 10:05 am

Group-office 3.0 looks terribly shiny! Using extjs is really the way to go, in my opinion.
I was wondering if you plan to release Group-office 3.0 on Sourceforge as well and when.
At the moment I am mainly looking for a shiny calendar module for a project in which I'm involved.
Thanks for an impressive web application by the way!!!

Hey, great work!!

Any estimate on the time you need to compleet?

2 extra features shal make this complete for me:

1/
Paste images from clipboard to email. I use this in outlook quit often to mail a screen capture.

2/
Making a tree of task, for grouping.

Best regards,
Peter

1.send invoice
2.receive payment
3.basic reporting(totals in billing, outstanding invoices and balance sheet per project)

just thought i add that as suggestion for not big pocket players ;-)

Permission

Postby drkfulda » Wed Apr 23, 2008 11:00 am

Is it possible to make the permission like the following:

I have a main folder with different child folders inside. Now I give the read and write permissions to the main folder. Is it possible to choose also the child folders which get the same permission like the main folder?

At the moment it needs a lot of time, if i do this each time seperatelys for each folder.

Chris
