I would like to test the trunk version - but isn't that the community version only?

I can upgrade your pro licenses to the beta version if you like. It's very stable. Just let me know.

3.5 Changelog:

- A lot of bug fixes and improvements to the tickets module. Customers can login
through the Group-Office interface now too.
!!! Important !!! all ticket agents need manage permissions now. Only
members of the admin usergroup can change settings

- Wrote custom IMAP library that replaces the php-imap extension. It's much
faster, has more features and now the php extension is no longer required.
There's really a huge performance improvement especially when connecting to
remote IMAP servers.

!!! IMPORTANT !!! POP-3 is no longer supported in this release. POP-3 doesn't
really make sence for a webmail client so we didn't implement it in the new
lib.

- Upgraded to ExtJS 3.2.1
- Dialogs are now only rendered on demand so Group-Office will start faster
- Reminders and new e-mail popup when you are not working in Group-Office. This
way you'll have a visual on screen.
- Document templates work for Office 2007 files now too.
- Easier filtering on links and search results
- A lot of small enhancements everywhere.
Best regards,

Looks great, and IMAP seems much faster!

A little too fast, perhaps - GO now shows three inbox folders....

If this is the reason I cannot set up pop3 accounts to collect mail then I disagree - I want to use GroupOffice as my IMAP client and collect email from other mail servers using POP3. Only being able to set up IMAP accounts to collect mail means that my mail is on multiple servers, which is silly. I want it all on my GO server.

This is messy ...

Example 1:
We have a professional licence with you for one of our clients. This sits on a Centos box. Mail arrives via SMTP and is put into the the Centos user mailbox. GO then pops the box on the localhost and puts the mail into GO. If we use IMAP then we take up twice the space - Centos mailbox and GO mailbox. Crazy.

Example 2:
We have GO on one of our public servers (we are a small ISP). We have users who currently POP mail to their home computer from their existing provider. We want them to keep their mail in 'the cloud' (on our public servers) using GO. We need users to be able to add email accounts in GO as they wish to combine their email boxes from other providers.

Then why don't you just use IMAP? POP for webmail is crazy.

I think we are at cross purposes here.

I agree POP for webmail doesn't make sense. We use OpenWebMail and Roundcube on our BlueOnyx (Centos5) servers in addition to Dovecot for those who wish to use POP3. OWM and Roundcube use the existing user mailbox (~user) to create and store mail folders on the host server. We want to also provide GroupOffice as an option (with a professional licence if they require remote sync). Michael Stauber from Solarspeed has (as I think you are aware) produced a nice install package to install GroupOffice onto BlueOnyx and integrate into the management GUI.

What we also have are people who say have a BT email address (came with their broadband) plus say a Virgin email address from before and they use both. BT and Virgin allow only a small mailbox (say 100Mb) because they expect users to POP these accounts to their computers using Outlook Express or Thunderbird. We want to provide them with webmail using GroupOffice but we need to get their mail off the BT and Virgin servers and onto our box running GO. If you remove the ability to pop these accounts then this can't be done. They cannot use IMAP because the mailbox allowance is too small on the BT and Virgin servers.

I don't want to POP the mail FROM the GroupOffice server. I want to POP it TO the GroupOffice server ... if that makes sense :)
