install.php file shows PHP code

Postby sardiskan » Fri Feb 11, 2005 5:46 pm

I posted a previous message to the forum about my problem with the install.php file not working correctly. From what I can gather, my problem is that the apache server is not parsing the .php files, so it just shows the PHP code instead of executing what the code is suppose to do.

From what I understand you have to add the following to the apache.conf file:

Code: Select all

AddHandle application/x-httpd-php .php
AddHandle application/x-httpd-php-source .phps

as well as

Code: Select all

LoadModule php4_module        modules/libphp4.so

and

Code: Select all

AddModule mod_php4.c

I added these things to my apache.conf file but everytime I start my apache with these options I get the following error message:

Code: Select all

 * Starting apache...
Syntax error on line 19 of /etc/apache/conf/apache.conf:
Invalid command 'AddHandle', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong. I got this to work once..but I'm doing another install and I don't remember what I had to do the make it work.
