How to set path in sesssion cookie?

Postby HanSolo » Fri Mar 04, 2016 7:23 pm

Hello,
I installed two GO instances on same server (in different directories) with two different subdomains. Everything works well but I ve found that if you are logged in in one GO and open the URL of the other in another browser tab, you are logged in to this GO as well using another user. If you logoff in one of those GO, you are logged off from the other as well.
It seems to depend on the session coockie, that holds the domain name in the host field, but only / (root) in the path field.
I couldnt find any hint in the docs or in the forum here how to set the path in the session coockie.
Any ideas?

Han

I believe we had problems in the past when this was defined with IE loosing the session.

Why don't you use a different subdomain?

Hello mschering and thank you for your answer.

I am using differnet subdomains already in the form:
First GO instance: ssl-account.com/sub2.sub1.mydomain.tld and
second GO instance: ssl-account.com/sub3.mydomain.tld
but the session cookies will always have the same name (groupoffice), host (ssl-account.com) and path value (/).
My workaround is to just change the cookie name according to the subdomain name in the go/base/Session.php file, line 74, value of "session_name".
This is a more ugly hack but it helps me with the issue.
If it is not already implemented, may be it would be a good idea to set the cookie name and or host/path values from the config.php in future versions?

Cheers

Han
