Instant Messaging

Postby heden75 » Sat Jun 25, 2011 9:45 pm

Hello,

Is there any existing or expected instant messaging module comparable to the IM client provided with the Lotus IBM solution ? Such a feature would be a nice enhancement for the collaboration between team members.

Regards,
Arnaud.

Any news here? Our organization could really use a very simple IM module, and I bet lots of other users could, too. Thanks for any insight!

I agree. I'm looking for something implementable for a long time because it's overkill to install a complete jabber server, but I didn't found anything usefull. I think, Merijn should put this on the todo list. If it's simple enough one could easily create an iphone / android app also.

It would be great to have a separate *chat instance* for objects like Tasks. Currently we using the comments section to communicate while custom handlers creating reminders as notifications.

The system we used ejabberd seems unstable so we were kind of stuck on that.

Check out https://github.com/esl/MongooseIM, it is meant to be a cleaner and more stable fork of ejabberd.

Hi,

So this is something in the works? Support for instant messaging/jabber inside Group office?

Thanks.
