How to set correct permissions for group-calendar?

Postby Schorsch » Mon Mar 29, 2010 9:37 am

Hi,

I want to create a calendar, where multiple users can add and modify their own entries, but not entries of other users.
I created a group where I included the users and gave write permissions on the calendar to that group.
Now everyone in that group can modify every entry. How can I permit only modifiying own entries?
And: is there a way to display the owner of each appointment in the overview? Then I could use this as a kind of holyday-planner.

Thanks

Georg

You should create a view that holds multiple calendars. Don't create one calendar for everyone to write in.

I found that creating a resource is the best way.
The only thing I miss is to see the owner of each appointment, so that I can see in the overview, who tries to use the ressource without opening every entry.
Is it possible to modfiy the displayed fields, similar to the addressbook-view?

Would it work if the owner is in the tooltip?

No, we have to see the owner-name in the calendar view and the printout. In the meantime, we use the workaround, that everyone enteres his name manually in the location, but that's a little bit uncomfortable.

Ok I think you should create a special override for that because I think most users don't want to see that information. We could create that for you too if you like. Just contact us by mail for a quote.
