Problems with mail

Postby Thomas » Thu Aug 14, 2014 10:08 am

Hi @all,

if we send a mail having a inline Image in Signature from our Domain (lets say office.domain.net) with GO some recipients forced to give username and password to access office.domain.net (our GO).

I guess its because of this image in the Signature. But its for sure a inline. There is no other attachement, link or something like that. From my opinion its because of the cid from this inline-image called

Code: Select all

Content-ID: <9dbc60e546277aa97f8d61db6f6b7376@office.domain.net>

How can i prevent this behaviour? I tried to search in some files to replace "@office.domain.net" with nothing (in go/base/mail/Message.php), but without success. i was able to replace it for the img-tag, and i was sure i could do it for the image-part too, because in function

Code: Select all

handleEmailFormInput

the variable $img hold this part. But in the received mail the cid in this image-part have the cid with domain added.

Maybe someone got a hint for me.

If you go to html mode you can see what the email composer is doing. Inline image should look like

Code: Select all

<img src="data:image/png;base64,iISEFJIEHSNIWNFEIWONRIJsjeifos ...">

and not even mention the domain.

Not really...

if i write a mail and switch to source view, the inline looks like this:

Code: Select all

<img src="http://office.domain.net/index.php?r=core/downloadTempFile&amp;path=saved_messages%2F190d80ad121658a7d4df6970a314dcab%2Flogo1.png&amp;security_token=tBZEWakVherg8wnGDbPC&amp;token=8471b7886f513fd374fbd681b7077750" border="0">

That picture's not inline - it links to groupoffice - which is probably why it isn't working.

Note: I'm not very up on how groupoffice email composer works. But if you use something like http://webcodertools.com/imagetobase64converter to get the base64 code for the image, and then copy/paste that into the "src" tag (<img src="paste code here">) that will get what you are aiming for (note I think there is a bug where you have to switch back from source to main view before saving or it doesn't work).

Its when we write a Mail... but if i receive this mail its definitly inline. GO compile it into mail before sending.

Thanks. I have tried your suggestion... while in composer the Image is shown as what i paste into (base64encoded) the received Mail got it again as inline, means as seperate Part with CID which of course ends with @office.domain.net :(

There must be a posibillity to eliminate this Domain at the end... but i dont know where GO or Swift it add.

That's strange. In that case it' somewhere else that the image you talked about is being added. What happens if you search for that domain in the email source? Do you find it?
