PHP7.3 Addressbook import/Editing "My Account"

Postby rob » Sat Aug 17, 2019 9:02 am

Hello,
here - with GO 6.4.38-71 and PHP 7.3.4-2 - the whole import procedure of *.vcf or *.csv files into an addressbook fails totally. When the import button is clicked nothing happens at all! No Message, no result. I haven't got a clue where to get a handle of this topic.

Another Item is that editing of the personal profile is only successful when I go as SystemAdministrator via Administrator -> Users. If I want to manage the profile as a privileged User via "My account" it's only successful, if I'm grouped to 'Administrators" and then only for a poor few of the items over there. Here also no hint of the failure, nothing happens at all.

Maybe it's due to the deviant PHP-Version, but I can't surely imagine that.

The PHP version is fine. Do you get any errors on your server log or in the browser console?

Some hints I found:
1) Makes a *.tmp file in /tmp/groupoffice with all vCards
2) php-error.log indicates:
[19-Aug-2019 09:32:18 UTC] go\core\jmap\exception\InvalidArguments in /home/web/go/go/core/jmap/EntityController.php at line 736: Converter for file type 'text/x-vcard" is not found
3) I use Apache2.4.38 with php7.3-fpm Module

Hello Merijn, now the import of *.vcf works like a charm - thanks a lot!
Is there a possibility of grouping the contacts to group-lists? I haven't found!

The other item maybe not a bug, but a feature: As I mentioned, i cannot edit "My account" if I'm not grouped to "Adminstrators".
But I think this isn't a good approach. If I have only a small change e.g. of the address or something like that, the user can't maintain ist by himself. Rather inconvenient I think.

That's not supposed to be like that. You should be able to edit My Account without admin access. WHat's the error you're getting in the browser console?

PS: You can create groups in the address book tree and drag contacts in it.

Hello Merijn, it's OK now here after some warm-ups by me!
But now I have another problem: I want to sync the calendar with Nextcloud calendar & contacts by CalDAV/CardDAV.
Go - as I see - is only supposed to be server not client. Or have I misunderstood something?
How can I achieve the sync to nextcloud entries?
Many thanks Rob

Sorry, I don't know how to do that. GO is a server indeed. Only if Nextcloud has a client this could work.

Ok - I wanted to sync the Nextcloud Items in calendar and contacts to sync with GO like it works with Google calendar or Android contacts by CalDAV/CardDAV. But if I make a new entry in cloud GO doesn't notice it. If I make a new entry in GO Nextcloud/GoogleCalendar remarks it as a new entry. But plain not inversely! Nextcloud works as server AND client obviously GO obviously not. Thats my prob.

If nextcloud has a caldav client it should work theoretically. GO is only a server but that doesn't matter.

Hi - but only "theoretically".

If I enter a new event in Google calendar this event is shown fine in Nextcloud via CalDAV. So I think in this case NC acts as a client as it is expected. If I enter a event in GO-Calendar this event IS shown in NC. Here as well NC acts as client. But if I enter a new event in NC this event is NOT shown in GO-Calendar despite this CalDAV-connection is the same and established.

It seems that it is only a one-way-channel! Too bad...
